Directorate of GSPHCDA has Five different unit and is headed by&nbsp;<strong><em>Dr Musa Mustapha Abdullahi<\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Units Under Department<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>State AIDS and SITs Control Program Unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>State Immunization Program Unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Malaria Elimination&nbsp;Program Unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TB and Leprosy Control&nbsp;Program Unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neglected Tropical Disease&nbsp;Unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>State AIDS and STIs Control Program (SASCP)&nbsp;is<\/strong> a unit under Disease Control Department of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was established in 1996, under State Ministry of Health, when Gombe State was created saddle with the responsibility<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To ensure that quality services are provided to people living with HIV and AIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It guides and Coordinate disease Prevention activities such as:-<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HIV counselling and testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prevention of Mother to Child transmission of HIV<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blood safety and behavioural change communication for proper use of condom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Geographical Area of coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SASCP formed at the State level to coordinate the HIV\/AIDS Health sector&nbsp;response&nbsp;at (Tertiary, Secondary, LGAs&nbsp;Facilities).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service&nbsp;Coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The HIV\/AIDS services cover the state through the following thematic areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>24 Anti Retro Viral Therapy Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>244 HIV Testing Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>214 PMTCT&nbsp;Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>71 TB\/HIV services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 One Stop Shop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsibilities of SASCP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development of State level Health sector plan for HIV and AIDS within the frame work of the State strategic plan and the National strategic plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure implementation of Health sector activities of HIV and AIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identification of gaps in the Health sector response to HIV activities at State level, LGA level and Facility level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure quality service provision to people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compilation of data and Maintaining a data base on health sector response to HIV and AIDS activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collection of M&amp;E data on Health sector HIV activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transmission of information of Health sector<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>intervention to Federal Ministry of Health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SASCP collaborate with RH, TB control programme, GomSACA and Partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Partners working with SASCP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead Partner CIHP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WHO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNICEF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MSH<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SFH<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Federal Ministry of Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Achievements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to enhance the coordination of HIV activities in the State, the federal ministry of Health and its implementing partners have come up with a new modality where only one implementing partner operates in a State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By this arrangement, the lead implementing partner, CIHP has taken over all the activities of other Partners, (FHI 360, IHVN, and HYGEIA) in the state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PMTCT sites have been scaled up from 83 to 214 sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HCT sites 224 sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TBHIV sites have been scaled up from 23 to 71 sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The TB and HIV collaboration has been strengthened as there is joint monitoring and supportive supervision in place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SASCP with support from MSH have reviewed it\u2019s 2013 to 2014 operational plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National AIDS and Reproductive Health Survey plus survey were conducted in all the LGAs in 2012.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National HIV Sero- Sentinel survey among women attending antenatal clinics was conducted between November 2013 to February 2014.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It also attended semesters National Data Validation bi- annually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AHNin One Stop Shop in 3 senatorial district&nbsp;in order to achieve the epidemic control&nbsp; in general population within the key
