GSPHCDA supported state NYSC to conduct a medical outreach in Yamaltu Deba, termed Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers. In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary of the agency, stated that the medical outreach aimed at improving access to healthcare among people living in rural areas.
While commending the community for mobilising there people, he stated that the community should take full ownership of the program by fully participating in it. He also commended youth Corp members for their volunteerism to there father land, stating that their work will compliment Governments effort in improving the quality of life of the people.
Present at the ceremony included NYSC state officials and zonal directors, District head of Kwadon and Local Government officials.
Gombe State Ministry of Health and State/National Primary Health Care Development Agency, in collaboration with W.H.O, UNICEF, engaged religious leaders in a one day sensitisation workshop on the introduction of COVID-19 vaccine at Emir’s palace Gombe.
Gombe State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya reiterates its commitment towards the provision of accessible and quality health care to its citizens.
The remarks was stated by his deputy, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, while commissioning 10 revitalised Primary Health care Centres in Daban Fulani, Kwami LGA. The deputy Governor who was pleased with the infrastructural upgrade, also stated that health care remains a top priority of the Inuwa led administration.
The occasion also witnessed the official flag off for the enrolment of 25, 000 beneficiaries into the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund. The fund is aimed at improving access to quality and affordable health care to citizens as a pathway towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
The ceremony was witnessed by top Government functionaries, including the representative of the ES NHIS, The Commissioner for Health Dr. Habu Dahiru, as well as other commisioners, special advisers, traditional leaders, LGA chairmen, Chief Field Officer UNICEF Bauchi Mr Bhanu Pathak among others.
The Executive Secretary Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Abdulrahman Shuiabu, lead a teams of directors from SPHCDA, NPHCDA other partners to Visit the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru in his office to brief him on the state’s level of preparedness for the implementation of COVID 19 vaccination.
A team from the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) paid an advocacy/entry visit to the Executive Secretary -GSPHCDA Dr. Abdulrahman Shu’iabu to sensitize the State on the upcoming LLIN campaign which is scheduled to hold in July 2021.
The Chairman of the board, Dr Ya’u Kashere appreciated H.E for finding them worthy to be appointed as board members of the agency and promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the agency achieve its objective. He also solicited for support from the management of the Agency.
The council members also paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Health to solicit for his support and guidance. The Honourable Commissioner pledged to support the council in all their activities.
