In its effort to eliminate malaria, the Gombe state Government through GSPHCDA in collaboration with National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) with funding support from the Global Fund Malaria project organize a one-day Training for Town Announcers ahead of the upcoming insecticide Treated Net (ITN) mass Campaign across the 11 LGA’s of the State.

The training aimed to educate the Selected Participants on how to sensitized the General Public on the use of insecticide Treated Net (ITN) in their various community before, during and after the mass campaign exercise in the state.

The training is currently ongoing across the 11 LGAs of the state, where a total of 570 town announcers are being oriented.

Gombe State primary Health Care Development Agency Support NYSC to Conduct Medical outreach.

GSPHCDA supported state NYSC to conduct a medical outreach in Yamaltu Deba, termed Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers. In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary  of the agency, stated that the medical outreach aimed at improving access to healthcare among people living in rural areas.

While commending the community for mobilising there people, he stated that the community should take full ownership of the program by fully participating in it. He also commended youth Corp members for their volunteerism to there father land, stating that their work will compliment Governments effort in improving the quality of life of the people.

The remarks was stated by his deputy, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, while commissioning 10 revitalised Primary Health care Centres in Daban Fulani, Kwami LGA. The deputy Governor who was pleased with the infrastructural upgrade, also stated that health care remains a top priority of the Inuwa led administration.

The occasion also witnessed the official flag off for the enrolment of 25, 000 beneficiaries into the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund. The fund is aimed at improving access to quality and affordable health care to citizens as a pathway towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.

The ceremony was witnessed by top Government functionaries, including the representative of the ES NHIS, The Commissioner for Health Dr. Habu Dahiru, as well as other commisioners, special advisers, traditional leaders, LGA chairmen, Chief Field Officer UNICEF Bauchi Mr Bhanu Pathak among others.
